Wow, what an amazing day here at Cycle of Good, twenty superstar eco-warrior children came to check out our recycling credentials and to have a go at their own recycling project.
They may be only five years old but the children knew their stuff, they told George Furnival, Uk Manager of Cycle of Good, all about how they turn trash to treasure at school and how they want to, “stop making so much rubbish”.
The children from St John the Baptist’s RC Primary School, were accompanied by their inspirational teachers. They have dedicated their own time to working with Cycle of Good to develop a curriculum-vehicle designed to inspire a responsible attitude to the planet and our duty to protect it.
They had a tour of our bicycle recycling workshop, bombarded Stan the mechanic with questions about Elephant Bikes and then they all sat to stitch their own recycled inner tube purse. Their concentration was amazing and despite not sewing before, they did a great job. Everyone left with a purse entirely made from waste inner tubes, each one, laser engraved with their own name!
“What did you do today?” our MD asked them at the end of the session, “WE SAVED THE PLANET” shouted back the 20 pint sized activists!
